The Eildon Tartan was produced by LOCHCARRON in 1996 as part of the Borders District Collection. The colours of the tartan reflect those of the Eildon Hills and district throughout the year. Blue for the River Tweed, with gold over check highlighting one of the most spectacular periods in the Eildon year, that of late Spring when the broom can be seen from a considerable distance. The Eildon Hills are the most striking geographical feature of the Borders and a mecca for those seeking recreation including hillwalking, fell running, shooting, golfing and riding.
