Hannay Tartan Fabric

Reiver 10oz Tartan Fabric, sold by the yard, 150cm wide.

The large White content of this Tartan gives a strong indication that it is relatively modern in design, obviously produced after the period of proscription and, in fact, the oldest sample can be traced back to the late Eighteenth Century, having being worn by Commander Alex. Hannay 1788-1844. The family name is predominantly from the Galloway region in South West Scotland.
